Renovation in progress

I realized I never did any "before" shots so here you go. It's a small bathroom and I'll keep the overall footprint. However, cast iron tub and plastic surround are GOING. In their place will come a glassed in custom shower.

My bathroom is now a big hole in the house! New plumbing is going in now and then the rebuild starts Monday. Only about a week+ to go! Hard to believe looking at this.

And here you see the view from the sitting room - they are moving the doorway to the left to make more room for the shower entrance. I considered moving the bathroom about 1 foot into this room but the room is smaller so decided to leave as is.

Bathroom reno time!

As if meeting nephew #2 and taking care of nephew #1 wasn't taking enough of my time on my week off in Boston last week I also arranged for a contractor to do reno on both of my bathrooms. Downstairs is getting a new floor and vanity/medicine cabinet but upstairs is a gut job. Gone will be the cast iron tub, plastic tub surround, wood floor, clunky radiator, etc. In is coming beautiful marble tile, a towel heater, custom glass shower stall, etc. Can't wait! Here are some of the tiles and things I chose. I wanted a clean, spa look and a modern bathroom while staying in keeping with a Victorian house.

This is the tile for the bathroom floor.

This is the wall tile (will be horizontal)

Ricardo finished the downstairs powder room already with the new floor and vanity. Here's a shot.

Multicolored slate floor and off the shelf vanity from Lowes.

More to come!
